Luxembourg, April 11th, 2006 Greetings! 5 days of compiling and digging through the code -- X11 is there! Unfortunately no R6.9 but a R6.8 at least, as support for the Sun3 Framebuffers was dropped with R6.9/R7. As far as I could test it, everything apart from Xprint and ucs2any seems to work properly. Even the heavily patched xdm which kept me busy almost 2 days. Then again, I didn't had the time to test all applications. If you stumble across some problems, please send me a mail. Please also test the static libraries, as I had to build them by hand and only did some superficial tests. I'll try to patch Xprint, but that may take some time as it's totally broken by design and the source has some odd Linuxisms in it. The ucs2any problem is even more bizarre. It compiled, but it always fails with "invalid argument" when running it. Because of that, I had to bundle the Fonts from my FreeBSD- and Solaris machines. Testing xfs, Xsun and XsunMono is up to you, as I don't have the hard- ware to test it on my own. Comments and bugreports are appreciated. BTW: This package is nothing for people with small disks. it extracts into /opt/X11R6 and chews up a whopping 175 MB! Have a nice day! Martin Etteldorf - etteldor@gmail.com
