Preface: Introduction & What's New?
What's New?
As of August 16th, 1996, I, Mike Frisch (mfrisch@saturn.tlug.org),
have officially taken over the maintainance of the Sun CD-ROM FAQ.
Since this is my first attempt at a real FAQ, you'll probably find
things a little different than other FAQs. If there's anything you
see that's out of the ordinary or just plain incorrect, please don't
be afraid to email me and let me know. As of mid-September 1996,
Martin Hargreaves is helping with the maintenance.

Special thanks goes out to Jurgen Keil, Carl Mueller and Brent
Byer. Mr. Keil works for TooLs GmBh, a company that provides a
3rd-party CD-ROM driver; he stands as the most-quoted source in this
FAQ. Mr. Mueller and Mr. Byer both sent along their collections of
articles to add to my own. Thanks to them an others, I had half a
megabyte of information to turn into this FAQ.
I cited each source below and literally quoted to separate my
own writing from that of others. Sometimes the technical explanation
was sufficiently clear and concise that any rewrite would be
pointless.
Finding This FAQ
I will post this FAQ on a regular basis (monthly) to the
USENET newsgroup "comp.sys.sun.hardware" and see what I can do about
getting it posted on rtfm.mit.edu. For the time being, if you wish
the latest copy of the FAQ, please leave email me and I'll mail the
latest version to you. I will eventually HTMLize this page and make
it available on my web page as well as setup an automated mailer.

the FAQ, please leave me email and I'll get it incorporated into the
list.
